Waimea Canyon State Park is open 365 days a year during daylight hours.

As a state park, Waimea Canyon State Park is managed by the Division of State Parks, Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), a branch of the Hawaiian state government.

On rare occasions, the Division of State Parks may close Waimea Canyon State Park or parts of the park for safety or other reasons, for example, due to weather or road repairs.
